PROPS, SCULPTURE & MASKS
Feathered Foxes on the Beach

An experimental film that takes place on 3 different beaches in Georgia, with 6 different fox actors that pose within each shot. The director asked me personally to design, sculpt and feather the foxes after she saw my past work in mask-making. (see my phoenix-dragon hybrid mask project)
The goal was to make the fox masks as realistic as possible with the use of actual bird feathers. After looking up references on different foxes, I sculpted each one with Plasticine modeling clay, then turned the sculpts into a plastic form by pouring liquid silicone onto the clay and then applying a release spray before pouring a resin mixture inside the mold. After the molding process cured, I individually placed each dyed feathers with hot glue onto the plastic masks and painted a light wash of acryla guache paint to help blend the colors.
